 In this class, I hope to learn about new and creative ways to use platforms I am familiar with. I also hope to be introduced to new ideas and ways to use technology to benefit myself and others. I will work to apply this in the future in my classes, jobs, and internships I may have/hold. Through my degrees, I hope to work with students in the arts and arts education departments. 

My prior experiences using technology in an educational setting would have to be times I have used technology while learning in school. I am a big fan of using Canva to create presentations and/or graphics. I also love to use Notion to keep myself and others organized and use social media for creative endeavors. I have worked with technology in my fields of study in the arts, using it for music, scores, scripts, and blocking/designing on stage. 

My existing personal learning networks are extremely beneficial to my fields of study. I love learning about how to interact with students and collaborate with them. I enjoy spending time around like-minded people who appreciate music and/or english, where I can bounce ideas off of them. I was introduced to Canva by one of my old teachers, and it was extremely helpful to my learning career.

    I love how you’re using Canva and Notion! They’re such helpful tools for staying organized and creative. It’s really cool how you’ve combined technology with the arts. How do you see yourself using these skills when working with students in the future?

Throughout middle and high school, I did use MS Word, but rarely. I generally used Google Docs more frequently and grew to prefer that. It is, in my opinion, more aesthetically pleasing, and it also connects to Google Drive, where I can organize all of my documents and other applications together. I am slowly switching over to Word, as most of my classes require assignments to be submitted as a Word document.  The standard of the ISTE Standards that is most meaningful to me is 2.2, Leader. As an educator, you have a duty to make sure that your students are led through academics and are taught properly. You also have to make sure that your students are well advocated for, whatever it may be that is in their best interests. I also think with the importance of technology, it is important for a teacher to lead students through digital literacy, introducing them to this new form of learning.      My experience with blogging has been a positive one. I've enjoyed being able to reflect on our weekly activities and expand my thoughts on what we have talked about in class. I have learned a lot about my own thinking, but also about others, especially when we read each other's blogs and leave comments. Overall, I think it has been a great tool to do some reflection and deeper understanding.     My experience with Generative AI has been a useful and easy one. I've used it to ask random questions, but more specifically for this class, working with lesson plans. The more specific I was when asking questions about what I wanted, the more accurate the generative source was. I think next time I use it, I will definitely immediately ask very specific questions about what I may want.      Generative AI could be very beneficial in teaching practices.
